OT - Transparency Film Types

I realize that there are very few of us that still do presentations
via overhead projectors, but I have a question about the different
types of transparency films.

What is the difference between films labled as:

- Laser
- Black & White Laser
- Black & White Copier
- Write-on?

I know that Inkjet film has bumps to hold the ink better and that it
doesn't work very well in laser printers, but I don't know the
difference between the others.

Can anyone help out?

I guess each manufacture makes a particular product to perform best on that
it's labelled as.

For example - one labelled 'inkjet' will perform best when used with an
inkjet printer.
It may also work well in a laser printer - or it might just melt inside the
printer - causing major damage.

If it's labelled 'laser' then it can withstand high temperatures - and so
will also (probably) work inside a photocopier. It may also work in an
inkjet printer - or the ink may not stick...and again cause damage.

Yes, that would also be my assumption.

However, what I was looking for was a little more technical detail,
such as thickness, temp rating, etc.

I guess I'll give the manufacturers (3M, et al) a call. I'm sure the
CSR's at the distirbutors (Office Depot, et all) won't know.

Thanks.
