Other Program's Spell Checker not working with Word 2003 Spell che

L

Lee

I recently purchased a program that "insists" that the reason the spell
checker isn't working is because my "Microsoft Word Spell Checker" is either
"not installed", "not installed properly", or "not working properly on it's
on already", all of which I know for a fact is not the case. I have never
before had a problem using spell checker with any other programs before.
Ineternal, or external.

My question is, is there a setting in Microsoft Word Spell Checking options
that I need to set that will allow my new program's spell checker to work, as
every time I use the spell checker in that program, it kickes me off
completely.

Hi Lee,

Without knowing anything about what the 'other program's Spell Checker' might be, I'm assuming it runs as some type of 'add-in' to
Word. There isn't any setting in Word to enable/disable other spelling programs, but there are security settings in Word that may
not be allowing it the add-in to start or it may be conflicting with another 3rd party program.

The installation of the Proofing tools (spell/grammar) for Word/Office are options you can check by reviewing the Microsoft Office
items in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel.
While checking there you can try running a repair/reinstall of Office to check that things are installed correctly (be sure to have
your Office/Word CD available).

YOU ARE RIGHT, MY WORD 07 DOES NOT DO A GOOD JOB WITH SPELL CHECKER, IN FACT
IT IS VERY POOR. WHEN I POST WHAT I WRITE FROM WORD TO A WEB-SIGHT IT
CORRECTS THE MISSPELLING. I CONTACTED MICROSOFT ABOUT THIS BUT NO RESPONSE.
