others can not open docs sent as attachments

I am doing on-line coursework. Any docs that I send can not be opened by
others even if I send them in the compatibility mode. I frequently get error
messages when I open the attachments of others. I have tried the repair
feature, and also reloading office 2007. When clicking the ? Help file I get
a message saying that the file was not installed properly. I do not know what
to do.

If you're using Office 2007 I'm afraid you've stumbled into the wrong
newsgroup - this one is for Mac Word. You can repost at one of the groups
you'll find here (probably Microsoft.Public.Word.Application.Errors):
