Oulook 2007 SEND/RECEIVE not working

I have Vsita and Office 2007 installed on my PC. The rest of the office works
fine except a while back Outlook 2007 started to give problems. At start up
it will open however the send/receive will not work automatically nor
manually. Closing and reopening worked at times. Recently it completly stoped
sending/receiving. I went to MS site and downloaded updates. It worked for
two days, went to intermitently and stopped working again. I have my out look
PANES configured top and bottom. When it opens without send/receive the
bottom pane is blank. Does anyone has a solution to the problem.
