Oulook 2007and cox error message

I cannot send in outlook 2007. works great with windows mail but I get a
message that says:
Task 'pop.central.cox.net - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC80) : 'None of
the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your
server.'

Cox can't help. all my settings that they can check are correct can anyone
help me?
