One of my users is having a problem where her PST file is missing. It
has occured 2 weeks in a row on Monday morning. She comes in and
Outlook cannot find it.
I go in and make sure hidden files and folders are visible and then
perform a search for *.pst on her computer, with nothing returned. I
have seen this posted before, and everyone says that it _CANNOT_ just
happen. Apparently, those people have not been around computers for
very long. Software is not perfect. There could be some race
condition occurring that some how removed the PST file during the
shutdown process.
Anyhow, the user has Windows XP SP1 with the latest updates, Outlook
2002 along with the rest of Office XP Professional, and Quickbooks
2003.
I know all about backups, we are trying to find the root cause of the
problem here... it does no good for the user to have their PST file
restored once every week, this is no kind of solution.
Thanks,
