Oultook 2003 Calendar problem

Hi all,
I recently had to format my PC, so I had to setup my office again.
I had keeped a backup of my office settings, with the utility provided
by my office installation (Save my settings wizard). When I installed
office again I restored my settings using the same utility and the same
..pst folders. Both office installations were Office 2003.
The problem is that my Outlook calendar doesn't open the appts that
have any form of recurrence from the "Day/Week/Month" view. I get the
Error "Can't open this item. The operation failed. An object could not
be found". The same error occurs after I create new recurring appts and
try to open them later (by double clicking them). The appts open only
when I use the "listview" views, such as "Active Appointments".

I urgently need a solution for this!

Thanks in advance,
pnp

First ensure Office 2003 SP1 is installed.
2nd, if above doesn't fix it, I'd try the /cleanviews command-line switch.
the use of this is in the Help system. Search for "command switches".

I had the identical problem, which also prevented me from opening out of
office auto reply messages (no real disaster), and stopped me from right
clicking on any items within outlook.
Problem was a corrupt forms cache (probably happened when exiting Outlook
then shutting down too fast). I just deleted the frmcache.dat file (in Local
Settings\application data\microsoft\forms), and then when I re-opened Outlook
everything miraculously worked again.
Good luck!
