out of memory error when trying to attach from my recent documents

I am still trying to find some way to repair this issue. I have searched the
forum for memory error posts and tried to apply any fixes posted, including
archiving the old emails to bring the .pst file down below 1.5 GB, running
detect & repair, clearing temp files etc.

this happening with outlook 2003 SBE, running on a toshiba tecra M2 laptop,
Win XP sp2, fully patched.

Any diagnostic or repair hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scrooge

Try upping your virtual memory. Properties of My Computer, Advanced tab,
Performance Options button, click the Change button for virtual memory. I
tend to set mine at double the RAM. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. It already had 768MB of virtual memory set there
and the ability to alter to as much as 1536, so I am not sure that is the
problem, but I will try to set it higher and see.

Exactly what error message are you getting?

I just re-read your subject line. If you are trying to attach from the "My
Recent Documents" folder you are actually attaching via a shortcut. Try
attaching the document from its source location.
