Out of Memory Error

Kevin Marti

I have an Intel P4 with XP Pro. I use Access 97. I had 512M of RAM.
Everything worked fine. I changed the Ram to 2G and now when I try to open
Access, I get an 'Out of Memory' error. How can that be? Thanks, Kevin

Hi, Kevin.
I changed the Ram to 2G and now when I try to open
Access, I get an 'Out of Memory' error. How can that be?

It's a bug that was fixed in Jet 3.51. You need to install that on your
computer. For more information, please see the following Web page:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=161255

You may download this version of Jet from the following Web page, but you'll
need to install MS Office 97 SR-2 first, if you don't already have it:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172733/EN-US/

If you need MS Office 97 SR-2, then you may download it from the following
Web page:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010449951033.aspx

Of course, MS Office 97 SR-2 needs to have SR-1 installed first, but your
Office 97 CD should already have that.
