Out of memory or HD full when OE executed

Whenever I execute OE, I get a message telling me that I'm
either out of memory or my hard drive is full. This is a
brand new laptop with 55GB available on the HD and 512mb
RAM. I also get the "MSOE.dll could not load" message.

(Note: My new laptop is running WindowsXP home edition and
my software is MSOffice Professional 1997 but was running
fine on my other laptop with the same OS.)
