Hello -
I am a relatively new mac user and have just started having the "out of memory" error that seems to be rather common in Excel.. after searching through old posts, I found this "fix"

I have found through trial and error that trashing any of the following files
in my Username/Library/Preference/Microsoft directory corrects the issue
temporarily and allows Excel to launch:
• Carbon Registration Database
• Office Font Cache (10)
• Office Registration Cache

However, when I go into this directory, I don't have any of these files! I do have an Office Font Cache (12).. would that be the same thing? or at least produce the desired result of being able to open Excel ... I do practically everything in Excel.. I have to find a way to correct this problem! Thanks to all who can assist.. or if there is another way??

Thanks -
JuliaB

I guess I probably should have added... that I am getting this error when I try to LAUNCH Excel... many other posts are saying that it is when they are copying and such... I can't even open a file... once I OK out of the error, the Excel toolbar is displayed as if it were "open" but then if I go to Open or Open Recent and click on a file, I get back to the Out of Memory error.
