out of memory

Hi,

I have an aplication in Access97.
In that aplication I have a embeded picture size 8 Mb
The program give me usually message like this "out of memory"
What is that and what can I do for optimized my aplication?

Dear Florin:

If you remove the embedded picture from the application, does the error go
away? In other words - are you sure it is the picture that is the issue?
Have you considered linking to the image rather than embedding it?

There is a known issue with Access 97 on computers with 1 GB of RAM which
generates an "Out Of Memory" error...

You say the picture is 8MB. Is that the size of the external picture
file? If so, is that a .bmp file, or is it one of the compressed
formats such as .jpg or .gif? Even if the original picture is in a
compressed format, Access will store it as a bitmap, which will vastly
increase its size. So if it's a compressed image, it's possible that
you really are running out of memory.
