Diane,
I think I have found the issue, not sure exactly what to do about it.
Our Exchange environment is 2007 and some users computers are office 2003.
We have Office 2007 on our recently purchased systems but a few Office
2003
systems still around. This is only happening on the 2003 systems.
Office 2007 and Exchange 2007 have a number of additional options
regarding
the Out of office message. Capability of presetting dates, seperate
messages
for internal / External users etc. If you set the out of office in OWA for
users with @003 installed on their local system, it works fine because the
display is the same as Outlook 2007. however just updating the Message box
on
the local system will not update to the Exchange 2007 environment.

Using outlook 2003 in exchange environment. We changed the message from
original message to new message however Out of office is still
returning
the
original message. It is as if outlook has saved the message somewhere
and
will not allow it to be changed. If you look at the out of office
assistant,
the new message displays.
