Out of office assistant outlook 2002

.. My out of office assistant dos not show? how do i install it ? when I go
to the options below all i see is load of files ? what do i do with them?

1.. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2.. Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
3.. Click Add-In Manager. Select the option Exchange Extensions commands

It will only show if you connect to Exchange Server - if you don't, it
won't.

very simply, exchange server is a pice of software that runs on a server on
a company LAN and is a mail, calendar and task sharing application. A POP3
server is a mail server provided by your ISP that you connect to externally
(used to be dial-up before broadband).

set up my email accounts so they send an email to whoever, when i am away?

You /can/ but it means having Outlook open and running 24/7. The best way to
do this is to see if your ISP does webmail - most do these days - and if
they do they most probably have a "vacation" message service you can set up
on their server.
