Out of office Assistant

Our VP of Systems enabled the out of office assistant while he was out last
week. When he arrived back this morning and opened up outlook 2003 it didn't
prompt him to turn of the out of office assistant. Has anyone else seen this
and if so, what is the cause and fix?
