Out of office assitant Outlook 2003 on XP

We have been giving new computers out to our staff with windows xp and
outlook 2003 on. We are having problems with the out of assitant. When you
click tools > assitant it says 'cannot be displayed due to a unspecified
error' It then says the system is low on memory. The computer has a 1G of
virtul memory and 512 of ram. Also there is only one profile on the
computers, and there are no disabled items listed.

any help would be great,
