Out of Office problems

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: Exchange I have a user using Entourage with Exchange 2003 and when we select the OUt of office in Entourage it only works if we keep the computer running and entourage open.
I would like to be able to set an out of office reply message without having the computer on and entourage running.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you using Tools --> Out of Office...?

That does not require Entourage to be running. If you quit Entourage,
does it get disabled?

What happens if you set the message using Outlook Web Access (OWA)? Does
it stay enabled or does it eventually get disabled?

Bill, thank you for the reply.

I have selected the Tools-out of office and it is checked also the OWA is set with out of office but if i close Entourage it doesn't send a out of office message. I have to have entourage open.
Your thoughts.

Quit Entourage and leave it quit. Set your Out of Office in Outlook Web
Access (OWA). Does it stay enabled there or does it eventually get
disabled? This will tell us if the problem is closer to Entourage or to
your Exchange server.

If it remains enabled then launch Entourage and go to Entourage menu -->
Switch Identities... Create a new test identity. Set up your Exchange
account again and test Out of Office. Does the same thing happen?

Does this happen with Entourage on a completely different computer?
