Out of office replies not going to outside emails

We are using Outlook 2007 and are running Exchange 2003. I have had several
users say that when they use the Out Of Office reply the users on our network
receive the message but if someone from outside out network sends an email
they may get no reply at all. Has anyone run into this problem and if so what
did you do to fix it?

Replies to the internet are set on Exchange and I believe they are turned off
by default.

You are correct. I Googled your response and found out how to make the
correct change.
