Out of Office

In versions of Outlook prior to 2007, when the Out of Office was set to 'on',
users would receive a pop-up reminder window that it was on when they
launched Outlook. With 2007, all you get is a tiny space in the bar at the
bottom letting you know the state of Out of Office (which most people don't
notice). How do I get 2007 to show a pop-up window like the previous
versions of Outlook would do?

Hi,

In Outlook 2007, it will only notify you that 'out of office was turned on' in the status bar. We cannot set it to show a pop-up window like Outlook 2003.

In Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2007, we can set the time frame for the OOF to be turned on, which if used would negate the need to be reminded to shut it off.
==============
1. Click Tools > Out of Office Assistant.
2. Choose 'Send out of office auto-replies'.
3. Check 'Only send during this time range' and set the start time and end time.
4. Set your auto reply messages.

Thus, the OOF will only be sent during the time frame.

For the 'out of office notify message', please ask the users to note the Outlook status bar. Thanks so much for your understanding.

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Emily Lin
