outbox - sticking and not sending

Please help
Why do some (not all) outbox messages(Outlook 2000) just
sit there and not send? Others go OK ??
Repeated attempts no better?

Look at the obvious first. I've had a few users with like
30 unsent messages in there outbox wondering why. Upon
further inspection, I noticed that one recipient of 1
message was bogus (i.e. another employee where the local
e-mail server knew quickly that it was a bogus address).

So you can take all the messages in your Outbox and dump
them into the drafts folder. Move one message at a time
back into the outbox and resend. See if that helps.

I'd like to add to Tim's comment that even some of the email addresses may
look like they are "ok", but for some reason OL does not like it. Retyping
the address it in the person's contact sometimes helps. Weird one. I never
had this in OL 2000, but a lot in OL 98. Good luck anyway.
