Outgoing message hang up

I am using Outlook 2002 with Windows XP. Twice within a week while sending messages with jpeg attachments the system will continue to send the same message without clearing from the Sent Items Box. It seem to be in a contiuneous loop. Any suggests on clearing this issue.
