Outline and Table of Contents

Doris Edwards

Hello,
I have a document that contains Outline Styles, for ex. Heading 1, 2 and 3.
From this Outline, I create a Table of Contents, based on Outline Levels.
This is absolutely fine.

Description of Problem:
Instead of the Style (Heading1) attributed to my first level Heading, I have
created a separate Style, called for example User_Specific_Heading_1

When I create the Table of Contents, I proceed in three steps:

1) select the OPTIONS button on the Table Of Contents tab
2) delete the number 1 that sits next to Heading 1
3) inscribe the number 1 next to User_Specific_Heading_1
This works fine. But only one time!

Every time I recreate a Table of Contents, I need to reconfigure (i.e.
re-perform above three steps) because, unfortunatley, the new configuration
is not retained.

I have created a template, thinking that I might be able to fix the
configuration in there, but that does not work either. There seems to be no
way to capture a specific configuration.

Any ideas?

Thanks very much. Best regards from Geneva, Switzerland
