Project Server does not offer Multi-Value (MV) outline codes at the project
level, therefore, you would need to use two or more custom enterprise
Project outline codes for this purpose. You might call them Major Funding,
Minor Funding1, Minor Funding2, etc. Hope this helps.
I think we're trying to do the same thing - with perhaps a bit of added
complexity? Our department supports up to 7 different business units. A
given project may be funded by anywhere from 1 to all 7 units. For each
project, i need to know who is sponsoring the work (which unit or units) and
the percentage of ownership for chargeback purposes. Using the approach
described, would I be able to enter a % of ownership somewhere??

Sadly, in your case your would need to create seven different custom
enterprise Project fields to respresent each funding unit and seven more
Project fields to represent the funding percentage. Hope this helps.
You could define a number or text field for each department by name and
assign the percentage of ownership to each field which you could default to
zero value. This would provide you a "notational" representation of
ownership. Is this what you want?
Most folks are concerned about getting something more out of this exercise,
but you haven't stated the problem very well, if you're looking for more
than a notational reference.
You are correct. The concept here would be to take the total number of hours
recorded in a given month or project reporting period, and charge back actual
hours to these lines of business based upon the percentage ownership they
have. (eg: if 2 groups are splitting the cost 50/50, each would be charged
50% of the total hours booked in a given time reporting period).
Your approach may work - or perhaps i'll just need a table 'off line' to
maintain these allocations?
