I'm having trouble figuring out how to make outlines that look like
outlines:
1) If I create a document in "outline view" using the various "heading#"
styles the document does not look like an outline when I switch back to page
layout view. If I try to apply bullets and numbering, the numbering is all
off.
2) If I try to create outlines using just the bullets and numbering features
I find it very difficult to get properly nested numbers, unless I have the
whole thing organized from the start. Outlining is often a process that
develops as one is putting together one's thoughts, so this is useless.
There is very little info in Word Help on nesting numbers or on making a
real outline.
For this very expensive program there is very scant documentation included
and the tech support period expires all too quickly.
Surely there must be a simple way of accomplishing this task, which should
be a basic function of any decent word processing program, much less the
"industry standard".....
