Outline number tab space after

R

Ricki Miles

I am working in Word XP. I am modifying Heading 1 to have ARTICLE 1
numbering. I would like to have no tab space after the ARTICLE 1 number as I
will be putting in a Shift+Enter to have the text for this heading on a
second line. Even if I define the heading numbering with the tab space
after as 0, it still puts in a half inch tab after the ARTICLE 1 so my
centering does not align properly. Is there a way to have no space after
the number?

TIA,

Ricki

You get to choose which character you want after the numbering (tab, space,
or "nothing") if you use the Outline Numbered tab in the Bullets and
Numbering dialog instead of just Numbered. Click the More button to expand
the dialog and see that option.
