I am preparing a report that uses four levels of outline numbering for
section headings. I want each level number to include the numbers from the
previous sections; e.g., <Subsection 1.2> followed by <Subsection 1.2.1>
followed by <Subsection 1.2.1.1.> The numbering works fine for levels 1
through 3, but not for level four. Level 4 consistently puts the previous
levels in the wrong order as follows: L3, L1, L2, L4. So, for example,
Subsection 1.2.3.4 comes out as Subsection 3.1.2.4.
I've tried to follow the recommendations of Shauna Kelly at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html to set up
the list using built-in heading styles, but I can't figure out how to
straighten out Level 4. I would very much appreciate any help anyone has to
offer.
