Outline with lined pages

I do a lot of outlining in OneNote (2007 Trial Edition), and would like to
use lined pages, but the lines ON generates bear no relation to the lines of
the outline. Is there some way to have the background lines fit the outline
(the way it does in Ecco and OmniOutliner)?

The rule lines were originally intended as a writing guide for users who
are using ON on a Tablet PC. If your handwriting follows a nice horizontal
line, the handwriting recongition results will be more accurate. The lines
are not intended to flow around or match typed text.

Having said that, if you set the rule lines to Narrow, and only use an 11-
pt font, the lines of text should match the lines on the page.

Thanks Erik. I find that it works for Calibri 11pt, but not for Arial 11
pt. or several others I tried. Am I doing something wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. Some other dimensions or aspects of
certain fonts will differ. Some fonts will fit and others won't.
Unfortunately you have to make a choice between using the rule lines or a
certain font. I personally find the rule lines superfluous when typing
text, for what it's worth...

No. Nothing wrong.
Calibri is the standard font for ON.
Other fonts are far higher. The difference is extreme f.e. if on
important web stuff one gets "Verdana" which is one of the most often
used fonts on websites.

Thanks for the quick reply. I do like the lines, as I'm so used to them in
other outlining programs. In the hopes you might save lots of testing time,
do you happen to know which other 11pt fonts work with the lines?

Not offhand, sorry.

the lines?

AFAICS you'll have to try it out yourself.
