Outllok doesn't open files

Dear friends,
I am new to outlook, however I managed to create and open a private .pst
file in the My documents folder (to ease backup). So far, so good.
I use BestSync to sync My Documents between a desktop and a notebook. Well,
the first time I synced this outllok file, I got an error like: Unable to
open Outlook, Unable to open file, and so on, and outlook never opens,
crashes and closes. This is happening on both computers.
I tryed to move this file to another location, hoping that Outlook would
open without it, but it asks me to locate this file, and when I do, all
hppens again. Also ran the repair tool on office setup, and nothing

To add, if you are now saying you are unable to open this data file within
OL, then likely you have corrupted it. Often by copying or accessing it in
some way whilst OL is open.
You can try the pst repair tool, scanpst.exe, and run it several times on
the data file, all with OL closed.

answer was always like: cannot recover information, does not recognize the
file.
My point now is: how can I make outllok to run without DEMANDING to open
this corrupt file. As I mentioned, I'm new to outllok, so most of this file
is a conversion of email form OL express (I can do that again, no big deal),
but I need outolook to JUST OPEN.
Your uggestion is appreciated.

I dont use 2007, but I would suspect you should use the Mail Applet in the
control Panel to create a New Profile, add a new data file & configure and
test the accounts. (the new profile might not be neccessary, but at least it
ensures you start off with a clean profile)
Then if origonal mail was on OE, in OE export the msgs to OL, and if
neccessary in OL import OE addresses

With Outlook closed, use Control Panel's Mail applet to add a new PST and
remove the reference to the broken one.
