Outllook Custom Views on Inbox

P

Peter Crickman

Hi,

I recently migrated from an Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002 client on my
desktop PC. My mailbox is stored on a company MS Exchange 2003 server. The
migration appears to have moved all settings except for my custom views.
How do I migrate the custom views that were defined on the Inbox to Outlook
2002? I find no references to registry keys or Application data Outlook
files in MSDN for this information.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Peter

Did your mailbox also migrate to a new server? If so, the views, which were
stored as hidden items in the mailbox, probably did not migrate.

No, the maibox was not moved. How does one recover the hidden items? Why
wouldn't they show up in the new client? I believe that they were set to be
visible only by myself - rather than for others.

Thanks again,
Peter

Did you change anything else in your mail profile-- like the default
information store?

Sue,

I am not an MS Exchange admin. As far as I know the only change was made to
the Outlook client version. Our IT department set up the new client.

I didn't ask an Exchange admin question. I was asking whether more had
changed on your desktop than just the Outlook software, specifically whether
the delivery location in your Outlook mail profile had changed, for example
from a .pst file to the Exchange mailbox. If it has, then your views are
still stored in the old location.

I'm sorry for misinterpreting the intent of your question. The delivery
location in my Outlook mail profile was (and continues to be) an Exchange
mailbox. Are there methods for retrieving these hidden items from the
mailbox?

Not in any way that would be useful to restore them. If you're not seeing
them, then either they're corrupted or someone really did move your mailbox
and didn't tell you.
