Outlokk 2007: 7-Day View

K

Kelv

I've recently upgraded from Outlook 2k - 2007, and I can't find how to set up
my calendar view as I had it previously.

This was the view where you could see 7 days with a box for each day (like a
2 page per week desk diary, or Filofax if anyone remembers those). Now it
defaults to a vertical strip for each day, which I don't find easy to use.

The settings under Outllok 2k to achieve this were the Day/Week/Month view
in the View menu option, with the Week option button selected (from Day, Work
Week, Week, Month buttons).

Many thanks

The view you're seeing is the only 7-day view that Outlook 2007 supports. It works well with the new calendar overlay feature.

Sue -

Thanks for your reply, I guess I'll have to put the Filofax days well &
truly behind me(!)

I'm not familiar with the Calendar Overlay feature you mention - could you
point me in the right direction?

Many thanks.

Outlook 2003 allows you to view two calendars side-by-side. Outlook 2007 takes that nice feature one step better and overlay the appointments from one calendar onto another calendar with color shading that makes it pretty clear which item belongs to which calendar. This is very useful, for example, in an organization that publishes company holidays as a SharePoint event list. It's hard to imagine making it work with the old "boxy" 7-day view.
