outlook 02 hangs

when I forward or reply to a e-mail, it goes into the
outbox and hangs there. the percentage gets up to around
50-70 percent. it shows that it never is sent and pops
up timeout errors, but it is sent and multiple times.
whats going on? thanks for any help
