Outlook 03 can't connect to Exchange server 4.0

I keep getting this message "The action could not be completed. The selection
specification is too complex. Use fewer or less complex restrictions." When
connecting Outlook 03 on a XP Professional client to an Exchange 4.0 Server.
Why does Microsoft have to make everything so difficult. It works fine on
Windows 2000.

You're putting a Ferrari engine in your 1976 Ford Pinto. Or is it a Ford
Pinto engine in your 2006 Ferrari?

Have you tried disabling the XP sp2 firewall? Were you able to create a
profile?
Otherwise, your employing a scenario that is asking for problems. If you
are stuck with Exchange 4.0, I would run Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000 as the
clients.

Microsoft has made the solution for this very simple: stop using Exchange
4.0.
Exchange 4.0 is over 10 years old. Windows 2000 is almost 7 years old.
Given the relative ages of the products (and I appreciate that sometimes
older is better and hey if it works...) I would always recommend testing
compatability prior to production deployments of newer technology.

I blame Microsoft for lots of things. This is not one of them.
