I just had a very strange problem.
Suddenly my Outlook would hang for a minute or so at startup, then work
fine. After checking that it would do it with any account, I launched netstat
in a command prompt before and while it hanged, I found out that during the
hang, the following line showed up in netstat:
TCP host:XXX planet02.HHI.FRAUNHOFER.DE:http CLOSE_WAIT
This line only appears when outlook starts, and while it hangs. Like Outlook
is trying to access this and cannot.
I researched this on the Web I came up with this site:
http://fall.cs.princeton.edu/codeen/rrds/planet02hhifraunhoferde/graphs.htm
Which seems yo be a proxy server.
I seem to have gotten rid of the problem by doing a repair and reset from
within Outlook, but I am concerned by what could have created this problem,
and that something may have installed something on my system.
Any input or suggestion are appreciated.
