Outlook 07 crashes on message open

Almost every time I open a new mail message, Outlook crashes. I followed the
link on the MS thankyou notice for sending the trouble report, and it said
that Adobe Acrobat needed an upgrade. However, I'm at v 7.07 with Adobe
Reader, which is the newest update they have.

Anyone else seeing this problem? Any ideas?

It sounds like you also have Adobe Acrobat installed. If that's the case,
remove thwe PDFmaker add-in and see if that makes a difference or disable
Word as your mail editor and see if that makes a difference.

There is no way to disable Word as the email editor in Outlook 2007. Outlook
2007 uses the Word dll for editing and this is not controllable.

I resolved same issue and posted my solution as follows: I just had to
remove an add-on file (PDFMOutlook.dll)
From the toolbar in Outlook go to:
Tools - Macros - Security – Add-Ins
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\PDFMaker\Mail\Outlook\PDFMOutlook.dll
I removed the PDFMOutlook.dll and saved it in a newly created folder on my
desktop just in case I need the file later.

The formal solution is to uninstall the Adobe Acrobat 6/7 Professional
Outlook and Office Add-ins via Add/Remove Software and then Modify Adobe
Acrobat Pro.
Acrobat Reader is not the issue. The problem is Acrobat Professional
that you use to create PDFs.

OK, then. I guess I won't be using Outlook 2007 any time soon. Word as
editor - yuk!

I was having trouble with dozens of alerts popping up about Mapi and Business
server, or something. I did what you said, but with the Business Contact
manager add in. Now all is well! thanks for idea.
