Outlook 12 storage and collaboration

I am trying to find out how outlook 12 will be storing it's data, still in
the pst file or in the new office xml data format. I haven't been able to
find an answer yet, does anyone know?

Another issue I'm curious about is if Office 12 is going to provide
out-of-the-box syncing capabilities: will it be possible to sync outlook
items without sharepoint or exchange? Micorosft acquired Groove so I wonder
if goove's workspaces will be integrated in Office 12.

Thanks Ken for the link. I found that the new XML format will not be
implemented in Outlook 12 so I guess it will still be the pst file storage.

can't find concrete info about syncing. There's no info about collaboration
which relies on SharePoint services which are build on top of windows server
so I guess there's no easy way to collaborate without a windows server. If
so that's good news for me and other syncing add-in authors :)

You'll probably have to wait for Beta 1 to know more about what's going on
with synching. If you're an ISV you should try to get into the technical
beta (Beta 1) so you can play with Outlook 12 and see what new features for
synching will be available.
