Outlook 2000 abends if view/add appointment

Use Outlook 2000 with Windows 98. Have uninstalled using CD, then downloaded
and further uninstalled with eraser2000.exe. Reinstalled. Have done this 4
or 5 times. Something is being left behind, probably in registry. How can I
force OUtlook to totally reload?
Note: Unlinked the pst file, started up with empty pst; Same problem with
calendar.

NO malware now found by HJT, Ad-Aaware, Norton (deleted on ebad SearchHook)

Calendar is NOT corrupted: exported to CSV, imported without problem

Running Windows 98 with Offcie 2000 Pro
