Outlook 2000 all unread emails showing as read..

Hope someone might have a few ideas about this one.. it's
got us stumped..

After downloading all of my email, it shows in the Inbox
highlighted (as unread). Upon reading only one email and
then closing the email itself, all of the other unread
emails, become unhighlighted and show as read.

Anyone else come across this?
