Outlook 2000 and Vista

J

Jay Somerset

I am using (or trying to use) Outlook 2000 on Vista. Everything seems to
work EXCEPT I cannot designate my Contacts Folder as an Outlook Addressbook
-- the box to do that is greyed out.

Is there a trick to doing this, or is this one of the (few) things that do
not work on Outlook 2000 when running under Vista?

Thanks.

Copying and registering WAB32.DLL and WAB32RES.DLL does not work properly --
both are loaded but each gives an error message regarding a missing entry
point. No change in OUTLOOK's behavior -- the check box to designate
Contacts act as an Outlook Address Book is still greyed out.

Any other possible solution?

Finally got it to work.
Needed to add the "Outlook Address Book" which picked up the new-style
Windows/Vista Contacts, imported from the old Outlook 2000 Contacts folder.
My situation had been complicated by the fact that I also had an offline
Outlook Address Book configured into Outlook's services.

Jay,

I don't get the following part you wrote:

How did you do it? Did you import your contacts into the contact directory
of Vista? How did you add the "Outlook address book"?
