Outlook 2000 Archive issue

Running SBS2000 with all latest patches applied

Office 2000 with all latest patches applied

Problem is with archiving messages.

I am unable to select messages and have them archive, no
error is reported and we do not have limits set on the
mailbox size.

If I force the archive date too tomorrows date it states
in message that all messages will be archive and then
empties select folder to archive.pst.

I have setup a new mailbox but still find that messages
cannot be moved to archive.

Any thoughts out there?.

What exactly do you mean when you say you are "unable to select messages and
have them archive"? I know you said you're not getting an error message,
but what happens when you try to archive? What is the procedure you are
using?

I select a folder for archive but when I select a
particular date to archive from the messages are not
removed to the archive.pst...Only way is to force all
messages to archive.pst by using tomorrow date which then
gives a warning message that all messages in chosen folder
will be archived. This then moves all messages fine.

I have also noticed that in other folders when a date is
entered to move messages older, some go and others stay.

Update
We now have two clients that have had all their emails
archived for no reason. Checked autoarchive on their
Outlook2K and this has not been set!.

Gone to their archive.pst and was able to recover messages.

I am having exactly the smae issue as Allan. I need to
find this solution quickly. I have very heavy email usage
and the inboxes are becoming very large very quickly
without the archive working!

Check the Last Modified date on the items that aren't being archived as you
think they should. That's the date Outlook uses to determine whether or not
an item is ready to be AutoArchived, and a simple action such as moving the
item to another folder can change the Last Modified date. More information
