Outlook 2000 / auto reply / out of office

Abay

Hello,

We use Outlook 2000 at the office and want to have it reply with an "out of
the office" message. I checked the help function, which tells me to go to
Tools, then select out of the office assistant .. unfortunately "out of
office assistant" does not appear on the Tools menu ..

Have I missed something?

Any help on this would be most appreciated as our office is closing down for
the holidays Dec 21 and I would like to be able to have an "auto reply"
working.

Thanks]

the assistant is only available if you use exchange server. Everyone else
needs to use a rule - and leave outlook running.

Howdy,

It works only if you use Exchange Server.

Many thanks for your reply ... I must admit that I came to the same
conclusion (not re exchange) but that I would have to use a rule, did not
know about leaving outlook running .. thanks again for that ..

instantously, as the help function was not really good on this subject. I
