Outlook 2000 autocomplete hesitation

Whenever I try to select a name that is suggested in the To field using
Autocomplete there is a hesitation of 5-20 seconds. I found a support
article on this issue for Outlook 5 but it doesn't work for Outlook 2000.
Any thoughs on what I can do to fix the hesitation problem? It is quite
annoying.
