I'm having problems with Outlook 2000, since I upgraded from Windows
98SE to Windows XP. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000 no
less than 4 times, and also uninstalled and reinstalled XP twice, and
isolated my old Outlook data and settings off the hard drive to a CD,
so that old information would not be picked up. I have also reset the
Regional Date/Time Settings in XP numerous times, and it made no
difference.
I've run detect & repair, and also inbox repair, which both say nothing
is wrong. I've also run outlook.exe with the command lines switched
that Microsoft had listed, and that made no difference, either. I've
recreated the Favorites file. I have SP 1 through 3 installed.
I noticed that since XP, dates and times do not display in Outlook.
This is not just in Calendar, but everywhere you would see or be able
to edit a date and/or time. For instance, e-mails show no received
date/time anywhere. Also date/time pulldowns are blank (have no
contents), if you manually type in a date or time, you can't save the
item, because you get an invalid date error from Outlook. I've
attached an example below.
I also exported a copy of the calendar to Excel to see what content was
in my existing appointments. In the spreadsheet all of the date/time
information is there, and it is correct. But since this problem
started I have not been able to sync the outlook calendar to either
Palm or Yahoo, and I suspect whatever is going on with the dates and
times is the root cause.
Considering that my Office 2003 is arriving next week, I really need to
solve this problem before I install that, or the problem will become
muddied with new variables.
Has anyone seen this before and do you know what to do about it?
