I am having a problem with Outlook 2000. I need the
hotfix for this problem but I was told to contact
Microsoft. Microsoft won't deal with me because I have an
OEM copy and DELL will only give me help on a fee support
basis because it has been 21 days since the machine was
bought. Here is a description of the problem:
There is a known bug in Outlook 2000 Service Pack 3 that
erroneously causes this error message to occur. When you
click the Save it to Disk option in the Opening Mail
Attachment dialog box, you receive an error: "Outlook
cannot save the URL to a file. Can't find this file. Make
sure the path and file name are correct.
To resolve this error, you'll need to contact Microsoft
Product Support Services and obtain a hotfix, or simply
wait for Service Pack 4. If your issue is pressing and
you can't wait for the service pack, see Microsoft
Knowledge Base article 810646 for details on this issue
and how to obtain the hotfix.
None of this helps. Anyone have the hotfix or know of any
easier way to get it? I do have one product ID that is
not OEM but when I go on the Microsoft Assisted Support
page, it tells me that the Product ID does not match the
country I selected which is United States. I bought it in
the US so I don't know what country to choose to make it
work. Thanks
