Outlook 2000 - Can't delete from Deleted file

I an running Outlook 2000. My .pst shows 93kb.

When I try and delete files older than 1/4/2008 I get this error message:
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook."

I have restarted and I still get the message. I have run "Detect & repair"
and the issue persists.

I would appreciate any help that you have to offer.

Run scanpst.exe against your PST file. You can simply do a file/folder search
for it but be sure to search for hidden files and folders so you can find it.
Also, you should be viewing your known file extensions as well. If the scan
finds any errors and repairs them, run it again until no further errors are
found.
