Outlook 2000 compatible with Office 2003

I am a contractor working with a client that currently has Office2000
installed on their desktops. I am working on a new desktop image for them and
they would like to include Office 2003 on this image. I've heard different
things, but I wanted to know if Outlook 2000 can coexist with the Office 2003
products of Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

We did an initial install and selected the install option to retain the
original version of Outlook, but after the install was done, the MIcrosoft
outlook 2000 icon had been converted to a folder.

NOt sure if we did something wrong or not, but I wanted to run it by someone
to see what my options are. ALso, we are using the ADM files for policies for
Office 2000. I assume that I'd have to incorporate the ADM files from Office
2003 to manage these workstations.

TIA,
Ken
