Outlook 2000 disconnects my current connection

I know this question has been asked in relation to Outlook Express,
but the solution doesn't apply to Outlook 2000.
When trigger a Send/Receive of mail, Outlook 2000 disconnects the
existing connection if it is not the connection used on this mail
account.
Previously I had been asked the question of whether I would like to
attempt to use the existing connection, to which I replied 'Yes', and
checked the box saying 'Don't ask me this question again', assuming
that it would take the current response as the permanent answer.

Unfortunately it is not the case, and it takes my response to be 'No',
disconnects, and invites me to use the connection that is set in the
mail account. This is only valid from my home phone number, and isn't
always appropriate.

How can I get Outlook 2000 to start asking the question again?

Thanks for any help,

Giovanni

Thank you Diane, your solution does work - I am no longer
disconnected.
I do however have to connect to the Internet manually now. If I click
send/receive without doing so, Outlook doesn't connect, the download
just fails.
I can live with this, but if there's a simple cure, I'd be grateful to
hear it.
Giovanni.

The solution for Express should also apply to Outlook - go into the
connection settings in account properties and configure outlook to use IE's
dialer.
