Outlook 2000 Error Message 'Error occured while attempting to open

I have just configured a POP3 email account and when I click on 'send' a
message window comes up displaying 'An error occured while attempting to open
the Windows Address Book'

What does this mean and how do I rectify the problem please?

I get the message even when I click on address book to open it up.
