Outlook 2000 exporting data

P

Peggy

I am purchasing a new computer that doesn't have a floppy
drive. I want to back up my .pst files in Outlook onto a
CD. I backed up my pst files in My Documents folder then
using my CD Creator added the files and burned a CD. But
when I tried to use the CD to restore the files I get this
message: "Properties for this information service must be
defined prior to use". I don't understand! Are there
instructions somewhere to back up Outlook files on a CD?
Help!

Peggy,

It sounds like the .pst file is still read-only. Make
sure the .pst file has been copied to your hard drive and
the file properties (right-click the file and click
Properties) dialog box has the Read Only check box
cleared.

Hope this helps.

After copying the .pst file from the CD to the computer,
open Windows Explorer and right click the file. Click
properties and uncheck Read Only.
