Hello!
I use MS Outlook 2000 version 9.0.0.2814.
The plattform I use is a windows 2000 professional.
Sometimes quite often actually it hang when I click on the button
marked
<send and receive> in Outlook 2000
I can always ping the POP3 server name from the Console.
If I ping the smtp server I get this message
Svar från 217.27.160.65: Målnätet är oåtkomligt.
but this is normal I think
I have looked for similar problem on the net and found that AVG might
cause
outlook to hang so therefore I have stopped AVG E-mail Scanner
It still hang from time to time about the same as before I had this
AVG running.
I have tried both outlook express and now I use outlook 2000 and it's
the same problem
with these two it hang.
I have server timeout set to 5 minutes
When it hang it says connecting to server and then after some time I
get this message
below.
Here is the error message in Swedish
"En timeout inträffade vid kommunikation med servern. (Konto:Min
mail,POP3-server:
mail.uht.se, Felnummer:0x800ccc19)."
In English it says something like
A timeout has occurred when comminicating with the server.(Account Min
mail,POP3-server:mail.uht.se, Error number: 0x800ccc19).
The mailserver that is used is an MS exchange server
My account name is tojo.
If I use this account name as it is.
I always receive a dialog window that tells me to log in.
In this dialog window the following is displayed.
Server: mail.uht.se
Username:tojo
Password:******
Even if I enter the correct password it doesn't work and nobody else
at my place receive this kind of login dialog window. So there must be
some
settings that is incorrect at some place. Even if I enter the correct
password I can't log in
and I even if I could I don't want to have to log in every time.
If I instead set my account name to (e-mail address removed) it works better
because I will never receive this login dialog.
Somebody at out work has this @uht.local and somebody has just the
account name.
This with @uht.local is not my main question I can live with having
this suffix @uht.local added to my account namn.
One more question:
The reason for this must be some error in the settings for the
different account name I assume?
The hanging is still there even with the added @uht.local
In this dialog it says connectin to server and then it hang.
Some times I get this error message .
In Swedish
"Det gick inte att logga in på e-postservern. Ditt användarnamn eller
lösenord godtogs inte.
Serversvar: -ERR Logon failure: unknown user or bad password..(Konto:
Min mail.POP3-server:mail.uht.se, Felnummer 0x800ccc92).
In English something like
" You could not log in to the e-postserver. Your username or password
is not accepted.
Server answer: -ERR Logon failure: unknown user or bad password..
(Konto: My mail.POP3-
server:mail.uht.se, Errornumber 0x800ccc92)."
I can send a message but using the button <send and receive> cause
quite often a hang
Does anyone have any suggestion what is causing this kind of strange
problem.
It's very annoying and irretating problem that I do want to get rid of
as soon as possible,
