OUtlook 2000 hangs when trying to find contacts

HELP! Outlook 2000 sr-1 stops responding when I use the
find icon on the tool bar to find a contact in a public
folder. It does it whether I am
searching in a public folder or my inbox. About 1 in
every 10 attempts it works, however most of the time it
just causes outlook to hang. The closest thing I have
been able to find is KB article # 237912 however I
already have sr-1 installed, tried the "fix" anyway and
did not work? Any suggestions?
